Objectives and relevance of the joint exchange programme
The project brings together four research centers devoted to the development of new materials and nanomaterials based on the sol-gel technology, their physic-chemical characterization and their use for sensing purposes.
The established network offers a complete training in the synthesis and characterization of new materials for sensing. The two main areas of training are concerned:
-
Synthesis and physic-chemical characterization of molecularly imprinted polymers against Antibiotics (β-lactamics, anthracyclins). Development of integration strategies for optical transduction.
-
Synthesis and physic-chemical characterization of dye-doped sol-gel materials for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) sensing (model analyte: formaldehyde). Development of integration strategies for optical transduction.
During the reported period the activities of the research groups was concentrated on two work packages:
# 1 Synthesis Of Molecularly Imprinted Sol-Gels Against Antibiotics
# 2 Synthesis Dye Doped Sol-Gels For Formaldehyde Sensing
